Congressman John Boehner (R-West Chester) has been leading the fight to reduce the regulatory red tape factory in Washington since he first came to Congress. And as a recent CNN report illustrates, that fight is more relevant today than ever, with the Obama Administration considering 219 major regulations this year – each of which would have an estimated cost to the economy of $100 million or more. In fact, seven of these regulations would cost more than $1 billion each, potentially taxing the economy with $100 billion of combined regulatory costs in a single year.

This past week, Boehner asked Ohio Governor John Kasich to speak to his efforts to create a better environment for long-term job growth in the Buckeye State. Under Kasich’s watch, Ohio recently successfully erased an $8 billion budget deficit without raising taxes, prompting the credit rating agency Standard and Poor’s to upgrade the state’s outlook.
