In an extended interview yesterday at the Republican National Convention, Congressman Boehner told FOX News’ Brett Baier that Mitt Romney is in strong position to win Ohio on November 6th. Boehner also said VP Nominee Paul Ryan – a Miami University graduate – “will help” Republicans in the Buckeye State and said Republicans are the only ones with a plan to save and protect Medicare.

November’s election will offer a clear choice between President Obama’s failed economic policies and a pro-growth GOP agenda, Republican Vice Presidential Candidate and Miami University graduate Paul Ryan said this past Wednesday at a homecoming rally for the Romney-Ryan ticket in Oxford. “We will not duck the tough issues,” Congressman Ryan said, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. “We will lead.”

As small businesses grapple with President’s tax hike plan, ObamaCare and the regulatory onslaught coming out of Washington, a new Wells Fargo/Gallup survey shows that many employers are “too afraid to spend or hire,” CNBC reports. CNN says “63% [of small businesses] reported being too concerned about the state of the economy to make any new capital investments until mid-2013.”

In an op-ed in The Hill yesterday, Congressman Pat Tiberi (R-Genoa Township) called for President Obama and Washington Democrats to stop the looming small business tax hike that Ernst & Young says would destroy more than 700,000 jobs.

With Election Day nearly three months away, Republican volunteers spent yesterday mobilizing voters in Ohio’s Eighth Congressional District fed up with President Obama’s failed record on jobs and the economy. Reuters reports “thousands of Republican volunteers braved scorching temperatures to knock on doors and canvass voters on Saturday” in Ohio and “a dozen battleground states expected to see close contests in the Nov. 6 election.”
