Today’s unemployment report was a sobering reminder that the president’s economic policies have failed. The U.S. national debt is now officially more than $16 trillion, which equates to more than $50,000 for every man, woman and child in America, NPR reports. In a statement, Congressman Boehner called the debt, which has increased more under President Obama than any other President, a “sad reminder of President Obama’s promise to cut the deficit in half.”

In an extended interview yesterday at the Republican National Convention, Congressman Boehner told FOX News’ Brett Baier that Mitt Romney is in strong position to win Ohio on November 6th. Boehner also said VP Nominee Paul Ryan – a Miami University graduate – “will help” Republicans in the Buckeye State and said Republicans are the only ones with a plan to save and protect Medicare.
